The menu bar

The menu bar runs across the top of the application and is where everything starts.

Note

On Access 2007 and later the menu bar is not at the very top of the window. It is under the Add-Ins tab.

Alongside the standard File, Edit and Help, there are nine menus built for running a trial.

Menu

Use it to

File

open a database, back it up, restore it, export results, exit

Edit

the usual cut, copy and paste

Delete

remove dogs, owners, handlers, or everything for an event

Centers

email exhibitors, run a random draw, manage a wait list

Entries

take entries, record payments, handle move ups

Events

choose which event is active

Maintenance

correct dogs, owners, handlers, judges, armbands

Reports

catalogs, confirmations, labels, scoring tables, secretary reports

Scoring

score the trial and produce daily results

Setup

create an event and enter its trial secretary

Tools

settings that apply to the whole program

Only one event is active at a time. The title bar shows which:

Agility OpenTTM - AKC - Lyons Township / GRCI

File

Open a different database, back up the current one, restore a backup, export results for the AKC, and exit the program.

Edit

Standard editing commands.

Delete

Remove a dog, an owner, handlers who have no dog, dogs or owners by who entered them last, all data for one event, or everything in the database.

Warning

These are not undoable. Take a backup from the File menu first.

Centers

Three places where a batch of related work happens:

  • Email Center — send messages to exhibitors

  • Random Draw Center — run and record a random draw

  • Wait List Center — manage the wait list when an event fills
